For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. -Matthew 18:20
Since we moved to Florida from Michigan a little over a year ago, Aaron and I have flip-flopped between two churches, and other Sunday mornings were spent with just the two of hosting a worship session in our studio— Complete with prayers, scriptures, songs and devotionals from our Bible.
In my life, I’ve been dedicated to two churches; The church I grew up in, and my father-in-law’s church. Both are lead by two great men of God with kindred spirits and a genuine care for other people. This has made choosing a church away from home a bit difficult because:
- We have high expectations.
- My discernment in spite of being open-minded.
For example, this morning, we attended a three hour service that had three offering sessions, and no sermon. I was not once directed to my Bible or given a reference to God’s word. It was a little surprising, and yes, its very possible that we attended this particular church on an off Sunday. Unfortunately, this is all I have to go on unless we decide to go back.
This Sunday, we’ll be attending a church based on a recommendation from a colleague and we’re going in with an open heart! We pray every day that God will continue to be in the front, back and center of our decision making and I am confident that we will end up where we need to be in every aspect of our lives ♡
